Image jobs past the 30-second sync budget and every video job run on the async path: accepted immediately with a request id, no timeout to dodge, and an exact error code when something does fail.

The three things the sync path cannot do

The 30-second wall disappears
Large resolutions, high step counts and a saturated deployment all hit the sync budget. Add ?async=true to the same endpoint and the job simply runs to completion.

Failures get a name
A failed async request carries a precise error code — vram_exceeded, for instance — on the Requests page. A sync 5xx can only tell you that the worker did not answer.

Signed webhooks instead of polling
Meshive POSTs the finished result to your server, signed so you can verify where it came from. Register per request with webhook_url, or once per workspace under Serverless › Webhooks — an event matching both is delivered once, not twice.

Results land where you keep things
Generated images and video go to the Artifacts gallery, or straight into your own S3, Cloudflare R2 or MinIO bucket when the deployment has output storage set.
Four calls, end to end
- 1POST the same endpoint with ?async=true, and send an Idempotency-Key header so a network retry cannot create a second job.
- 2Take the request id out of the 202 response and stop waiting.
- 3Receive the signed webhook, or poll the request, or watch Serverless › Requests in the console — all three describe the same record.
- 4Collect the file from Artifacts, or from your own bucket if you set one.
